Or I guess there’s probably one more in January. But as far as regular season is concerned, this is it.

While I can see the “no rematch” side of the Michigan/Florida debate, and certainly think it’s more sensible than it was relayed by Florida head coach Mr. Shelley Meyer and Chief Gator PR Representative Gary Danielson, the BlogPoll is not part of the BCS formula (yet!) and therefore has no bearing on any rematch or lack thereof. That said, I think Michigan beats Florida. The only thing I have leaning me toward a #2 Florida is that there might be a bit of truth to the schedule argument. I still think Michigan is a better team, whether or not they’ve had superior competition to prove it, Florida has eeked out too many games to make the comparisons all that even, regardless of competition. (That and they were outgained by Vanderbilt just weeks after Michigan raked them through the coals.)
Unfortunately for Michigan, the Notre Dame loss to USC proved that the Irish were not among elite competition, though they did well enough against the bottom five of the PAC 10 and the brave men and women of our armed forces to use their BCS asterisk. Two 20+ point losses to good teams, and a narrow win over a decent Georgia Tech team (provided you didn’t watch the ACC title game.)
So that’s my poll, and I’m sticking to it.
