Wall-to-wall dirty orange carpet

And you didn’t think I could work a Too $hort lyric into a post title. Well thanks to Tom’s recollection of Savage Hall I can. Bitches.

He actually came out with a hell of an idea. List all the pro and college venues where you’ve seen a game played. I think this is going to be a long sort of compilation effort, and might be better served to try WordPress’ “pages” function, but what the hell, let’s give it a shot.

College Football

  • Doyt Perry Stadium (BGSU)
  • Glass Bowl (or any of a number of other derogatory nicknames, Toledo)
  • Michigan Stadium (though this might not really count, I was too young to remember much of it)
  • Ohio Stadium
  • Ball State’s stadium
  • Dix Stadium (Kent State)
  • Kelly-Shorts Stadium (CMU)
  • Waldo Stadium (WMU)
  • Navy-Marine Corps (Navy)
  • Carter-Finley Stadium (NC State)
  • Ford Field (2003 Motor City Bowl)
  • Camp Randall Stadium (Wisconsin)
  • Metrodome (Minnesota)
  • Memorial Stadium (Missouri)

College Basketball

  • Anderson Arena (BGSU)
  • Savage Hall (Toledo)
  • Convo (Ohio U.)
  • St. John Arena (Ohio State)
  • Schottenstein Center (Ohio State)
  • Rose Arena (CMU)
  • Bowen Fieldhouse (EMU)
  • Worthen Arena (Ball State)
  • Millett Hall (Miami-OH)
  • Whatever the hell Kent State’s place is called, though I think I’ve only been there for women’s hoops, maybe. (I’ve only seen a HS game in Akron, but I get their arena and Kent’s confused until I realize that Kent probably wouldn’t name an arena after James Rhodes.)
  • Assembly Hall (Indiana)
  • Seagate Center (MAC Tournament, Toledo)
  • Battelle Hall (MAC Tournament, Columbus)
  • Hulman Center (or something like that at Indiana State)

College Hockey

  • BGSU Ice Arena
  • Ohio Fairgrounds Coliseum (OSU)
  • Yost Ice Arena (Michigan)
  • Munn Ice Arena (Michigan State)
  • Lawson Ice Arena (WMU)
  • UIC Pavilion (U. of Illinois-Chicago)
  • Joyce Center (ND)
  • Goggin Arena (Miami-OH)
  • Joe Louis Arena (CCHA Tournament)
  • Schottenstein Center (OSU)

I think that’s a good place to stop for now, it’s got the college stuff out of the way, as far as I can remember, I’ll have to work on pro arenas and the “wish list” later.

  1. You forgot Frost Kalnow Stadium, previously Columbian Stadium. And I believe you were in the Gilmor Student Center, Tiffin. You didn’t say what level of college. No smart comments.

  2. Um, you did a men’s and women’s DH at Kent Read, Kent Write, Kent State…I’m hurt that you forgot that road trip. More importantly flying home in order to make that evening’s party at the Green House.
