Master of my domain

If you can’t see anything different here, that’s good.

After about a dozen spam comments (all from the same place, but I couldn’t figure out a definitive way for them to leave me alone), I wormed my way through WordPress Support. When I got there, I found a pair of highly recommended plug-ins to stop spam comments dead…where they hide. Unfortunately, I needed a WordPress upgrade to make them work. Fortunately, I probably should have done that anyway. Unfortunately, WordPress 1.5.x is completely freaking different from WP 1.2.x, so I got lots and lots of errors. Fortunately (again), while it called for renaming some files that I finally remembered where they were at and using absolute paths to images and such (to make things easier in a year when I change again), it was alot easier than it’s ugly head appeared to make it. I’ve been awake on and off since 6am, from a different time zone, drove through some wicked ass rain and lightning, worked a full shift, came home to an 82 degree apartment and it was going on 1am. I didn’t want to work, I wanted to sleep. In a cool apartment.

Now I think I have both. And a completely updated set of blogging software to boot. WHEEEEE!!!

Although, before I smother a pillow with my head, I have to go back to the two key bullet points from the previous post:

-New entry in the “top three sandwiches ever” list: The Press Burger, from the Press Grill in Columbus, OH. Bacon cheeseburger with a fried egg added to finish your arteries off before you can ask for the dessert menu.

-Best new potato chips: Either the Parmesan & Garlic I finished off on the trip to Columbus, or the Buffalo Wing chips I almost finished off on the drive home from work. Both from Archer Farms via Target, both damn delicious, though the edge might surprisingly go to the Parmesan & Garlic. The Wing chips were good, but after more than a few were just another BBQ chip.

-Lastly, and more on this later, the Browns have yet to lose a game in 2005. A January 2 win in Houston followed by two preseason W’s and this team is rolling! Just wait until they play a real team and are making phone calls to Hanford Dixon and Frank Minnifield to patch up the already-decimated defense. THAT’S when the fun begins!

  1. Um, you ned to spend more time at Neon Johnny’s…the burger you mention is known as the Wacko Burger there. I’m not sure if it has bacon, but it has the other death foods. Plus, you get the cheap Johnny’s drafts and it’s a little closer to home than C-Bus.
