BlogPoll Week (fill in the blank)

With only slightly less guessing than I used to vote this afternoon (by the way, congrats to BG alum Tim Berry for being elected Indiana State Auditor!), I came up with another BlogPoll. Actually, this one sorted itself out pretty easily. Tennessee and West Virginia were the only real losers on the week, and the Vols last-second loss to a fairly highly-ranked LSU team doesn’t hurt them all that much, and even West Virginia’s free-fall was cushioned by the fluffy mass that is 15-25.

Michigan and Ohio State had the wake-up calls that should assure the Nov. 18 armageddon in Columbus (don’t worry, the trash cans will be emptied upon arrival! No thanks to Ray Patterson, of course…), and Louisville was convincing in it’s win in the first round of the Big East Tournament. The rest wrote itself.

One defense I should make, Central Michigan had a homer vote to count on last week. This week, while looking for any other team with a pulse, save Hawaii, CMU I think earns a vote. Their three OOC losses were to two ranked teams (BC and Michigan, the former they should have won, the latter they only embarrassed themselves by not representing the MAC as well in the Big House as Ball State did) and Kentucky, who is certainly mediocre at best, but they just put a decent UGA pelt on their headboard. Or their sister’s headboard. Or… yeah, their headboard. None of Central’s MAC wins have been too flashy, but they DID manage to stop the freight train that is the Temple Owls.

Anyway, here’s the poll:

Rank Team Delta
1 Ohio State
2 Michigan
3 Florida
4 Louisville 4
5 Texas 2
6 Auburn 2
7 California 2
8 LSU 9
9 Southern Cal 1
10 Notre Dame 1
11 Tennessee 5
12 Rutgers
13 Arkansas
14 Wisconsin 4
15 West Virginia 10
16 Oklahoma 2
17 Georgia Tech 1
18 Wake Forest 1
19 Boise State 1
20 Oregon 1
21 Virginia Tech 1
22 Texas A&M 1
23 Boston College 8
24 Nebraska 2
25 Central Michigan 1

Dropped Out: Washington State (#24), Missouri (#25).

I was on the road for most of the afternoon, but I listened (more intently than I hoped) to UM-BSU, one drive of BG-Akron and the end of LSU-Tennessee, though I watched a good portion of that one, just happened to be in the car when it ended. Caught some UL-WVU and Boise State-Fresno, and the end of OSU-Illinois, among others.
