During last night’s SportsCenter Terrell-fest, I just happened to catch a commercial for EA Sports NHL07. I hadn’t considered picking up a copy, though at $30, its certainly one of EA’s bargains. Then I saw the commercial, which featured Eric Staal of the Hurricanes. Figuring (and shocked) that this meant he was likely on the cover, I reconsidered.

Unfortunately, they have Alexander Ovechkin on the cover. Fortunately, this should mean PAIN PAIN PAIN! for Ovechkin and another Cup for Staal and the Canes. (OK, maybe not a Cup run, but he won’t have to deal with silly video game jinxes.)

The EA ad also sent me back through some of the clips from the Game 7 win. Justin Williams’ game winner still sends a goose-bumpy feeling through me that I can’t explain. And I smile like an idiot every time.
