The fun-loving fans of criminals at EDSBS mean well, but their attempt at the latest BlogPoll roundtable is slightly, well…um… functionally retarded. Maybe it’s a Florida thing, but counting to 10 in “a,b,c,d,e” fashion? There were others, but it’s now been two days since I started reading this and now, so I’ll shut up and answer some questions…
1. Education. List the region of the country you were born in, what universities you attended and at least one other you would have attended if your alma mater didn’t exist.
Born and raised in Ohio, graduated from Bowling Green, but if it wasn’t there, I have no clue where I would have gone. I’d say Michigan, but being an out of stater, I’m not so sure I could have made that happen. No other Ohio school really does much for me, I guess.
2. Sports Affiliations. List your top 10 favorite teams in all of sports in decending order. For instance, your alma mater’s football team may be number 1, but perhaps there is a professional team that squeezes in before you get to your alma mater’s lacrosse team.
10. Michigan basketball
9. Cleveland Cavaliers
8. Columbus Blue Jackets
7. Texas Rangers
6. BG basketball
5. BG hockey
4. Carolina Hurricanes
3. Michigan Football
2. Cleveland Browns
1. BG football – This one felt obligatory, although most of these are probably pretty interchangeable.
3. Movies. List the movie you’ve watched the most, your favorite sports related movie, the movie you secretly love but don’t like to admit it (possibly a chick flick or b film), and the movie you were (or still are) most looking forward to from this summer’s season.
Most: Probably Blazing Saddles.
Sports Related: Slap Shot and Caddyshack
Secretly Love: About A Boy, though Serendipity isn’t too bad as far as chick flick’s go, mostly thanks to Kate Beckinsale being so ridiculously hot.
Summer Movie: Beer League
4. Music. List your favorite band from middle school, high school, college and today. Also, as with the movies, include the song you secretly love but don’t like to admit. If Nickleback is involved in any of these responses, please give a detailed explanation as to why, god, why.
Middle School? I remember liking Prince, but that was 5th grade, I think.
High School – I remember liking NWA, but only really three or four of their “novelty” songs.
College – Pharcyde
Don’t Admit – Jodeci (although really, they kicked balls for awhile)
5. Books. Favorite book you’ve finished, worst book you’ve finished and the book you really should read but haven’t gotten around to it.
Favorite – Drew Carey’s “Dirty Jokes and Beer”
Worst – I don’t finish many books that are honestly that bad. I lose interest and they fade away.
Should Read – DaVinci Code. Saw the movie, and almost feel slightly guilty that everyone else in the world but me has read it.
6. Travel. Favorite city you’ve every been to and the one place you still must visit before you shuffle off this mortal coil.
Favorite City – St. Louis is a great city if you know where to look. Of course Vegas is sweet, too, but it’s Vegas. It’s supposed to be here.
Must Visit – St. Andrews for a round of golf. (Or “gof”, without the “L”.)
7. What do you love most about college football in 20 words or less?
Tailgating, and chicks like Jenn Sterger that aren’t Jenn Sterger.
Retarded, yes…but functional!
