Blech.

Not a good night for the Canes, and unfortunately, I pretty much called it.

Up 1-0 with about 2 minutes left in the first period, I thought to myself, “Don’t take a stupid penalty and let them tie this up.” Yeah, um, guess what happened?

Way too many penalties in this one, especially for Carolina, it felt too much like Game 4 of the New Jersey series. Hopefully they bounce back like they did in Game 5 of that series, or it might be time to make tee times.

I’ve always been neutral toward Buffalo, and I probably still will be once this series is done, but no matter what I try, I just can’t like Daniel Briere, no matter how skilled he is. Maybe it’s the fluffy French accent, or maybe it’s his forced goal celebration (you know, the one you always laugh at when picking your goal celebrations on PS2 because it looks way too forced…and gay? Yeah, that one.) But I just want to hit him everytime I hear his name.

Another interesting Buffalo fact, if it wasn’t weird enough that Buffalo’s Toni Lydman pronounces his last name “Lude-man”, apparently, but he spells his first name with an “i”. I wonder if he dots it with a little heart when he signs autographs, too? Because that would be too cute!
