Finally, after over a year in office, party boy governor Mitch Daniels has done something for me, the common man.
Of course now, I feel I owe it to him to take advantage of this and head downtown until 3…err.. 4am tomorrow night. Especially since tonight’s semi-planned festivities might be washed out. (Parking and walking 10 or so blocks is no big deal. Parking and walking 10 or so blocks in a downpour of hail? Slightly bigger deal.)

The Champps Downtown sports bar and restaurant normally closes at 2 a.m., but its managers had planned to stay open until 3 a.m. Sunday to cash in on the Final Four crowd. Now it’ll be able to do just that, legally.
“I’m sure we’ll pull in a couple extra grand; it’ll help,” said assistant manager Leah Harmon.
Unless that bar has picked up significantly since the Big Ten tourney or they’ve started selling beers for $500 each, I kind of doubt that.
Yeah, I noticed that, too. Originally, I thought that they closed well before 2am that night, but I then realized that I didn’t exactly have the greatest sense of time at that point of the evening.
And it’s Champps, I wouldn’t put $500 beers out of the question.
Nice title, and welcome to the light.
