Dominik Hasek had no trouble getting to Italy for the Olympics.

His equipment? Not so much.

Interesting how the United States is likely considered a “fringe contender” for a medal at these games, and now one of the top goalies on one of the top teams gets his equipment tied up in D.C.  I hope any or all 378 parts of the Czech Republic don’t start hating on the United States for this. (Or rather, Hasek doesn’t take it out on Hurricanes coach Peter Laviolette and the half-dozen or so ‘Canes that are playing in the Games after the NHL resumes.)

Speaking of that, one day into the Olympic break, and I already miss NHL hockey.
