Bizarre/sad news today about the death (by apparent murder) of one of the co-collaborators of “Curious George” in Florida. I know this joke’s probably been used a million times, and will be used a million more, but police have released a sketch of the suspect. He’s tall, thin, and wearing a yellow hat.
(That one would have gone off so much better if Google made better pics of the guy available. But everything either has the damn monkey, or is from the movie that comes out this week.)
In other cartoon-related, but not really cartoon-related, news, the big story around the Pacers this week (because there’s ALWAYS a big story around the Pacers, no matter how trivial it may be) was the retirement of Jonathan Bender. For an entire week, everytime I heard “Bender retires”, I got this image in my head:

Of course, to make that relevant to anything at all, there’s word out that Futurama might have a comeback in the works. I started to watch the show when it came out, then lost interest, but have picked that interest up again with it’s recent (read: last four years) syndicated run on Cartoon Network, and it might not be bad to have back. I wouldn’t go out and buy it if it were solely a DVD release, but if it were to come back to network air, I’d probably save a spot on the TiVo for it.
