So apparently, a reporter and his cameraman were blown up in Iraq. Or at least partially blown up, I guess.

I’ve thought long and hard about this, and after careful deliberation, my official stance is “BFD”.

These yay-hoos knew what was going on when they went for the glory over there (and that’s really all it is, after all), and now they get a little too close to the action and are being treated like American heroes. Without going off on a patriotic rant here, there’s alot worse shit happening to alot more heroic people over there.

Worst example I’ve seen so far? CNN, currently entering it’s second half-hour (at least) of coverage on this, has gone to the banner line “TV TEAM ATTACKED”.

Well hell, if it’s the TV teams they’re after, why didn’t we bring the networks home years ago? We coulda had this thing sewn up in a flash!

In other, apparently less interesting news in the region, Saddam Hussein continues to make a mockery of his “trial”. Foreign policy aside, this thing would have been alot better off if one of the grunts that found him “accidentally” shot him in the mouth.
