I-I-I-I Got A Feeeeeeling…

Congrats to the Denver Broncos on their trip to the Super Bowl.

Of course, it’s not officially official, but by listening to the Colts fans around me hooting and hollering about the Patriots loss, I’ve got a feeling that if Indy gets by Pittsburgh, there’s some fan karma coming back to bite someone in the ass here.

I realize that none of the jokers around my office will actually suit up and play the game, but isn’t that how it always works? You cheer and cheer and cheer against the rival you don’t want to have to play, and someone else sneaks up and bites ya in the can.

All that said, I don’t know that the Colts will even make it through the Steelers. Pittsburgh has the revenge factor on their minds from six or whatever weeks ago, and the Colts haven’t had much to do since then, really. Add to that the latest goings-on at the Harper household, and Indy is ripe for the picking. If that happens, I don’t know that Pittsburgh can win three straight road games, especially with the first two coming in such intense situations.

So how does CBS congratulate the soon-to-be AFC Champion Broncos? They spend every tick of the clock after the two minute warning with their cameras locked on the Patriots bench as Jim Nantz reads Bill Belichick a few lines from Shakespeare, pours him a glass of wine and massages his feet until the clock hits zeroes.

Gotta get those licks and nibbles in while they can, I guess, it’s still a long five weeks until the Red Sox hit spring training and give the national media the lovefest option they crave.

  1. You know, it’s easy for me to say when the Stillers are up 14-0, but I said last night that PIT has a better chance of beating Indy than Denver does. I stand by that.

Also, it’s nice to see that a good blitz turns Tom Brady into a thumb-sucker.
