What I learned today

-Morals be damned when cheating at video games. I had BG in the Sweet Sixteen of College Hoops 2K5, had to put it on “slow kid” mode to get there, but I’m there. A loss to Florida State and a crappy recruiting season later, and it’s HELLO MR. RESET BUTTON! Ain’t life grand?

Really, I did it for the good of all. The longer I drag out trying to get BG to win a national championship on that thing, the longer until I start cleaning my apartment for Christmas. As it looks right now, someone’s going to be sitting on my golf bag for Christmas dinner.

-Procrastination is the best option when you’re making food for Christmas visitors. Sure it sucks to run to the store on Christmas Eve with all the other (non-penguin) jackasses out there, but if you get good enough food early enough, you’re just going to eat it anyway, and end up at the store last minute after all.

-In the same vein, mixed nuts are the devil’s playground.

-The coolest animal on earth may now be the Jackass penguin. Naturally, that brings us this direction.

(a href=”http://images.google.com/images?q=jackass%20penguin&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&sa=N&tab=wi”>Photos here, most of the images I found were too big, too crappy, or too copyrighted to drop in here. Cute little jackasses, aren’t they?)

-Apparently, I can easily pull for fiery, bloody carnage when watching a live police chase on news feeds, but when a plane is going down, I get this strange sort of moral obligation to not hope for a cartwheel down the runway, as cool as that might be.

-Tyrone Prothro’s leg (DO NOT stare into the extra knee!) proved that the sick feeling I got in that college lecture when listening to the description of a hidden compound fracture on the football field, discovered only when the trainer was feeling the player’s leg for injury and feeling a warm, wet and sticky sock, wasn’t a one-time thing. Hell, I don’t even know how I got through typing that. I’m such a little bitch when it comes to blood. Especially my own.
