I am so dead

In what is sure to be an online first, I think I may have the opportunity tonight to liveblog my own demise.

See, thanks to a scheduling quirk on top of a scheduling quirk, I’ve been reverted to the overnight shift for one day. That means I get to go into work at 11:30pm and work until 8 or so in the morning. Unfortunately, my grand plan of “going golfing to tire me out so I could get to sleep in the evening” went a little south when the round of golf lasted until almost 6pm, and then I got to the point where I was tired, but not sleepy, then sleepy, but restless, then making the mistake of trying to fall asleep to Law & Order (which airs three straight times on Mondays, apparently), to finally giving up with what might have amounted to three minutes of light sleep and a whole long shift ahead of me.

I can’t say for sure if the liveblogging part can happen, since this is a new shift and I could actually have to do work (bastards!), but either way, my face and my pillow will be making some sweet, sweet love around 8:30 tomorrow morning.

12:22am Tuesday
Yeah, this is not good. The work shouldn’t be too bad, but I was just told there’s not much for me to do for another hour or so. Fortunately, Jim Norton was just on Leno (and his blog makes a re-appearance in my links, after his first post since January showed up recently), and I’ve had a bit of time to make a string of Najeh Davenport references over at Mr. Poon’s, not to mention the potential for some BumperBall or (gasp!) actually getting some work done. Maybe some of that work can come in the form of a BGSUsports.com effort, since that’s really hit the back burner lately.

Of course, once 1 a.m. hits, I’m bound to have work coming out of my ears, so until then, maybe I’ll just enjoy another one of those “how to turn your four year old into a pre-pre-pre-teen hussy under the guise of “beauty pageant contestant”, or whatever that is on over there.
