Freakin’ Sweet!

Finally, the new “Family Guy” debuted. Overall, it was pretty solid, I thought, though I think it might take a little time to get back into the feeling of new episodes, and used to how a storyline can take a lunch break for some totally inappropriate “flashback”. As far as the flashbacks go, I think the Pinocchio scene last night might rank up there with the “chicken fight” in the Y2K episode and Albert Einstein slamming God’s head in an oven and stealing his Shrinky-Dinks. Good stuff.

Most importantly, the Tivo was a rousing success, though I see what people say about networks not starting episodes on time. That could become a major pain in the ass, though I’m glad to know that once I set up the network at home, I should be able to record a few extra minutes at the start and end of every episode and cut the excess off later.

As for “American Dad”, I was less than impressed. Again. It moved very slow, seemed disjointed at times, and aside from a few good gags here and there (which served well to keep me awake as I watched it late last night), I can’t help but thinking, “Eh.” Hopefully it either steps up a notch, or their just double the new Family Guy episodes and run them back to back on Sundays.

The new season of Family Guy couldn’t have come at a better time, too. Last night at work was horrid. I suppose it could have been worse, it can always be worse, but a couple things that should have been so so simple turned into terrible pains in my ass. Completely avoidable, and horribly repetitive in their occurrences. If it was the first time things got that jacked up, I’d brush it off, but as it is, it has to stop.

So to recap:

Family Guy-good
American Dad-sadly indifferent
work-glad Sunday is over

BTW, have I mentioned how much this rocks?
