HEY!

As much as I love “The Big 80’s” on Sirius (aside from their constant recycling of the “big names” from the decade… I tend to think the phrase “80’s music” lends itself much more readily to Eddie Grant, Human League, Talking Heads, et al. more than it does the more popular acts, Madonna, George Michael, etc.), most times I hear Martha Quinn, I want to stop the car and poke my eardrums out with a wiper blade. I can guarantee ya this, we don’t like to hear you talk NEARLY as much as you like to hear yourself talk, MQ. Like, totally. (I could probably let it slide if she were as cute as her MTV days, but it looks like she spent the 90’s getting kicked in the head with an iron boot.)

Anyway, despite the nails-on-the-chalkboard that is the “icon for a decade”, as she refers to herself, she came out with a pretty solid effort the other day, a song I had totally forgotten to the point where I’m wondering if I ever really did hear it before, but now can’t stop playing/singing/humming along with:

Good stuff. Almost as good as the Slush Puppies reference my brother made earlier tonight.
