Don’t get me wrong, I love me some Deadspin. But I have to start wondering if they’re becoming ESPN.

They’ve kicked off baseball season with a fun mostly-daily feature called “The Closer”, five or so tidbits from the night that was in MLB play. However, upon closer look, three of the five “episodes” have led off with something Yankee-related. The other two were about Jimmy Rollins’ hitting streak (and subsequently, hitting streak that was), and on one of those days, the Yankees popped in at #2.

I know it’s early, the feature is new, but if next week’s “Closer” features updates on David Ortiz’s choice of hemmerhoid medication, or where A-Rod and Jeter (JeRod to the tabloids) shop for toys, I’m going to have to get Pedro Gomez on the story.
