Today was the first real chance I had (in the two days it’s been on) to check out some Olympic hockey, and I really can’t get that much into it. It’s still hockey, so it’s cool, but it still seems like a big All-Star game to me.
One thing I have noticed, and really, really don’t like, is Nike’s presence. I realize, after watching Oregon football the last few years, that they could have done much, much worse, but these things are pretty nasty. The single-colored shorts/socks combination, the vertical stripe down the front of the shin, the sweaters that look like they came out of a template, regardless of country… yeah, its starting to bug me.
At least they didn’t go with Cooperalls:

Cooperalls were much cooler than those damned practice socks that they are using this year. Kudos to Switzerland and Canada for sticking with the horizontal stripe.
Coincidentally, did you see the Switzerland game today. That second Swiss goal was tits.
I did like the Swiss sweaters, even without noticing the stripes on the socks.
And I only caught highlights of the Swiss win today, and wasn’t paying close enough attention to see the “tits”, unfortunately.
