Slap yo momma!

As I mentioned a week or so ago, I was expecting a book in the mail in a week or so. That would make me A) good at math, and B) the owner of a “personalized” copy of “Rammer Jammer Yellow Hammer” by Warren St. John.

I’ve promised a review of the book when I’ve finished it, but already, about 70 pages into it (Almost a quarter of the way through in about 21 hours! Wheeee!), I’m already a big fan. I’ll save the full review for later, but it’s got me so far. Very well written and easy to follow, with some nice bits of comedy dropped in just in time to shake the “Wait a second, why the hell do I care about Alabama football?” thoughts that start to creep in. It really is good stuff.

Best part about it is, the only thing I could think of about Alabama football was the 2000 Orange Bowl. As luck might have it, this is the season the author picked to follow the team around. While it takes some of the anticipation out of a few of the games, knowing that they must have won all but one to make it to a BCS game, I can’t wait to read about the reaction to the final play of the season.

(Sorry, Warren, you’ve already written in the book, it’s non-returnable. Besides, you can rest assured that this book is getting one heck of a review outta me, certainly I can take the chance to make a well-placed Ryan Pflugner joke, right?)
