Actually, not REALLY late, since I called him earlier, but today is the little brother’s b-day. Unfortunately, this also signals my own birthday coming up on Monday. When we were younger, this meant a week worth of presents. Today, it means I get to spend another day figuring out what the cable company is trying to charge me for.
Which brings me to another “get the kids out of the room and hide the parents” rant…
If you ever have the option of choosing cable companies (which is rare, I know, but if you do…) DO NOT select Comcast. I have had nothing but headaches with them since I started as their customer 6 months ago. From waiting a week and a half for installation, to petty installation charges, to cables running under carpets, to now. Their website sucks as far as customer service goes, their bills make no sense whatsoever, but that only helps them add mystery charges to the bill. They offer pretty good “initiation” deals, but they lump it all under “promo discount” on the bill, so you see a nice lump sum, but it doesn’t show you what’s being taken off of each individual service. Very confusing. And the fact that in five calls to customer service, I think one, maybe one and a half customer service operators have been coherent and intelligent, much less English-speaking. Its a pain in the ass. So much so that as angry as it gets me not knowing what I’m supposed to owe, that I’m deathly afraid of calling them to try to have ANOTHER agent try to figure it out, only to do nothing with it.
The topper? Even though I’ve had full service since August, including cable and internet, I had a charge on my last bill for “partial month service”. What partial month? It’s ridiculous.
I guess I kept this pretty PG, but I’m really pretty pissed with the cable company right now.
