you take the good, you take the bad

Two things.

One, major props to Brian at mgoblog for the BlogPoll sidebar thingy off to the right. Still needs some tweaking, and the results you see today is just a trial run, but it’s a very smooth way to keep the results of the college football BlogPoll handy.

Two, while my long, rambling, rantish post about what I hate about “bloggers” is still in the can, I came across another one. This might piss me off more than anything I’ve seen before. (Yeah, even more important than the “I’m sorry, but I don’t have time to blog” and the “I just don’t want my life to be public anymore, pity me” posts.) I found a donation button on a free blog. Here’s a tip. If your URL has anything along the lines of “blogspot”, “xanga” or “livejournal” in its address, and you’re not offering the cure for cancer, stick your donations up your ass. It’s annoying enough when people who are paying for bandwidth put a donation button up, but freebies? Get over yourself. (I’ve thought about doing the donation thing, but why should I? It was my decision to put this out there, my decision to find hosting, unless something drastic happens, where I can’t handle the cost anymore and people threaten to off themselves if I leave, then A) I’ll put up a donation button, and B) I’ll help those people find therapy. Really, I’m not worth it.) I wish I could remember the address that I saw that at, it really was quite silly.

Okay, three things, this one kind of neutral to even the karma out around this post.

Apparently, the official RJYH Book Tour is about to kick off. Unfortunately, the current schedule doesn’t have it anywhere near Indianapolis. How am I supposed to stalk these authors buy these authors beers if they won’t come near me?

Oh well, Warren, set your calendar for Doyt Perry Stadium on November 22, and all will be forgiven. (Speaking of, if anyone has ideas for orange-colored alcoholic beverages that will light your socks on fire, please pass them along.)
