The polite part of this post states that I am very, very displeased with the news that Erik Cole is out for the rest of the season with a fractured vertebra. And I’m even less happy with the way it went down.

I listened to most of this game on the way home from Columbus. After one period, it was 5-0. Carolina had scored on two powerplays and a shorthanded situation, and put five of nine shots in the net. I got home, turned on the end of the game, and though Pittsburgh was threatening to pull within one, I figured it was all good. (And I was right.) The first thing I heard was that a Penguin was given five and a game misconduct for boarding. I thought nothing of it, because I didn’t hear any more of it, until I got the news on Cole today.

Then I saw the video.

My true feelings are after the break:

"BrooksPittsburgh’s Brooks Orpik is a bitch. A dirty, filthy, nasty little bitch that has no place living among society. I hope this cocksucker rots in hell, then burns in hell and then rots again. Hell, he’s halfway there, he lives in Pittsburgh. Just because your little bitch Penguins were losing another game, swapping goalies like they were coeds at a frat party, and inching ever closer to clinching the worst record in hockey, is no excuse for pulling a Bush League move like this. If you want to slam another man from behind, I’m sure Mario or Sidney Crosby will be more than open to your offer. Boarding is one thing. Riding another opponent into the boards with your hands placed between his shoulder blades is completely another. I hope your sorry, glorified minor-leaguing ass doesn’t see the ice again for the rest of the season, and even that will be too light of a punishment. Better yet, I hope you don’t see the ice for the rest of the season AND you’re forced to spend the rest of your career with the Penguins. Dickhead.
