So, despite the nastiness that was the last two weeks, BG still controls its own destiny (thanks in HUGE part to a Ball State win over Akron) heading into the last two games of the year. The way this team has shown up the last few weeks, it may take a monumental effort to beat Miami(OH) and/or Toledo, but it’s doable.

In other college football of the day…

-Boston College did it’s part to muck up the bottom 2/3 of the BlogPoll with a loss at UNC today. Thanks Eagles!

-Alabama has opened it up a bit, but this game with Mississippi State is like watching a pudding fight on the short bus. I’ve got a feeling that when/if they lose, the Tide is in for quite a tumble in the polls. Ever since Tyrone Prothro’s leg decided to go “L-shaped”, they’ve been playing with house money, big time.

Of course, I learned today that they’ve got a kid on the roster named “Jimmy Johns”. The prediction has been made that UCLA wins this one 48-38. If not, I think UCLA could take a fall like the one predicted for ‘Bama earlier in this post.

-What part of a home win over a crappy Tennessee team necessitates a Gatorade shower for Charlie Weis? On second glance, I thought maybe he just sweats a lot, but then I saw the replay. They better be careful, though, and not get water on that new 20 year contract he had in his hands.

7:26pm
-And N.C. WHEEE!!!

10:43pm
-Texas Tech, up 56-17 with a minute or less left, lines up with three wide, checks off at the line, and runs a draw for 20 some yards.
